How much do CDL-A team drivers make at DNL Trucking?
Our team rate is $0.86 per mile with steady, predictable linehaul miles. You're a W2 employee — no 1099, no load boards — and you're paid every week.
Will I really be home every week?
Yes. We run terminal-to-terminal linehaul out of Charlotte, North Carolina on established lanes, so home time is built into the schedule instead of being a promise that depends on freight.
What do I need to qualify?
A valid Class A CDL with the Doubles/Triples (T) endorsement, at least one year of recent tractor-trailer experience within the last three years, and a safe, consistent driving record.
I don't have my T endorsement yet — how do I get it?
The Doubles/Triples endorsement is a written knowledge test at your state DMV — no road test required. Study your state's CDL manual, pass the test, and you're set. If you're close, apply anyway and talk to us.
What is linehaul driving?
Linehaul means terminal-to-terminal freight on interstate highways. You hook a preloaded trailer, drive, and drop it at the destination terminal. No customer docks, no touch freight, no waiting on lumpers.
What equipment will I drive?
Volvo VNL sleepers with full-size bunks — built for team driving, where one drives while the other rests.
Do you use brokers or load boards?
No. DNL Trucking is a contracted transportation service provider for FedEx Ground. The freight is assigned, the lanes are established, and the rate doesn't swing with the spot market.
